Molly's early years were almost picturesque. Or, as picturesque as a family of tieflings could be. She lived happily in the most affluent part of The Mezzio and her best friend for as long as she could remember practically lived in her family's apartment. They'd even done up one of the guest rooms to be completely catered to Leo, like he was part of the family too.
She was completely unaware of the fact that both of her parents were Brokers until an "accident" lead to the death of her father, which lead to her mother finally informing her of the family business in terms that didn't make sense to the seven year old but she understood at least parts of it.
She knew that her parents had a job that lead to her father's death and her mother becoming so emotionally removed from her only child that Molly can barely remember what her mother's face looks like some days. She knew that her parents being Brokers was what caused her perfect life to fall apart.
From then on, Molly resented everything to do with the family business and did everything she could think of to distance herself from it. When she was old enough, she even charmed her way into all of the Cabaretti parties she could get into, on one hand hoping that her acts of rebellion might finally make her mother actually react in any way and on the other hand, thrilled at the danger of spending so much time with the enemy.
